UPCOMING SCHEDULE
2008
> April 19 - June 15 Canada's UNESCO World Heritage Sites
McMullen Gallery, University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta.
Artist Reception Thursday, April 24th 7-9pm with both artists in attendence.
As designated by UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites, Canada has
growing list of outstanding examples of sites representing major stages
of the earth's history, areas of exceptional natural beauty and
significant habitats for conservation of biological diversity.
Donna Clement and Lesley Turner aim to increase awareness of
and advocate for these special places in Canada through their art.
Using fibre as their medium they take traditional embroidery techniques
and give them a contemporary twist. With inspiration from the Vikings
at L'Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland to Dinosaur Provincial Park and
the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, they have created works that express
the wonder and beauty found across Canada.
